Large, multi-generational families of substantial wealth weren’t spared the market volatility of recent months—but price drops also opened a door for investing in sectors and markets that “are ripe for growth,” says Ida Liu, global head of Citi Private Bank.
“With market volatility comes opportunities,” Liu says. Specifically, the private bank has advised clients, particularly those with cash on the sidelines, to invest in bonds—especially tax-advantaged municipal bonds for U.S.-based investors—and to focus on high-quality, dividend paying stocks in addition to alternative investments.
