

In 2014, a year before the Paris Agreement, climate change was a marginal issue at Davos. Discussions around it used to take place in a tent, at the periphery of the World Economic Forum outside the main conference area.
This year, it moved center stage. Up to a third of all panel discussions held at the 2022 conference focused on global warming. Since 2017, Davos has pivoted from a conference typically associated with discussions about the global economy and geopolitics to one focused on climate change.
